Just had to share!

I’m new here and new to PMR ( and I suspect possible extra cranial GCA) and I don’t have much history with you all, but you’ve already been so helpful, I just had to share!

My case seems to be a bit atypical ( it’s on my profile.... lengthy) and I live in a smallish town. There is one rheumatologist practice in town and they don’t have the reputation as being very pro active. They try to get everyone off prednisone too. AND it takes three months to get in! I’ve been waiting since May 29 and my appt is August 20.

Anyway, I went out on a limb and asked my GP to refer me to another specialist in the UC Davis system that a co worker sees. It’s a couple hours away but worth it, I think. And now I have an appt there on August 6!!! I’m so excited!!!! I’ve been just treading water here waiting to see the local and not holding out much hope.

Granted, there is no guarantee that this doctor will be any more on top of PMR, but he has good reviews and from people specifically mentioning PMR.

I would do a happy dance if I wasn’t in a neoprene suit two sizes too small!!! ( that’s for PMRpro 😉)
