Wrong dosage 1 day

Mistakingly took 2x1mg of Pred instead of 2x5mg pills yesterday morning- I have just realised that this morning !! It explains why I am very sore all over this morning. Do I just take my normal dose of 10mg today? More worryingly can this cause a flare?

Thank you in advance.

You can feel the flare! No, you are fine to just take the right dose today - one day of the wrong dose isn't likely to have much effect, several days isn't to be recommended though!

Pred doesn't stop the illness, it just mops up the symptoms. The illness is there all the time in the background. All that has happened is that the symptoms got to show themselves for a bit.

Phew! Thank you for your quick reply, I have been so concerned that, because I feel so sore today, I have created a flare up.

Many thanks.

PMRpro good advice. 👍

I just want to add, if you planned to do anything today.............if it can wait, let it.

Make sure you move (walking not running - making a cuppa etc) for at least 5mins whenever you find you are sitting down for more than an hour. If you feel like a nap - take it and don't push through it.

At one time or another, we all make mistakes..............I bought a seven day box it helped.

I under dosed myself for nearly a week before realising why I felt so sore. I did up my dose for three days then dropped back down again but only because I had gone so long on the wrong dose. I think nearly all of us gave done it at some stage. YBB

I feel so stupid sometimes when I miss a dose. I take it twice a day. So when I miss I feel it immediately the next morning. Surprises me how quickly I can feel it. But, when I do I up it slightly the next day. And soon as is well. I find the morning dose is very easy to remember because I take it with all the other pills, but the early evening dose is difficult to remember.

What about a pill box just for it on your bedside table? The morning and evening tablets I take are easy - it's the 2 in the middle, even with alarms set on my phones.

What do you mean by the "2 in the middle"? I can't put my 2nd pill on my bedside table because I take it usually just before or after dinner.

I have tablets to take 4x a day - morning and night are easy, the 9.30am and 4.00pm ones would be forgotten without alarms!

Not what you're looking for?
