It has nothing to do with weeks. It works on days. You don't have to think about spacing the old and new days, it is done for you.
As an example: Get a calendar and a highlighter pen. On the 1st of the month take the new, lower dose and colour that day. For the next 5 days (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th) take the old dose. On the 7th take the new, lower dose - and colour that day. For the next 4 days take the old dose. Continue like that, one day new dose, one day less of the old dose until you get to alternate days old and new. Then increase the number of days with the new dose in the reverse action.
If you get to every day the new lower dose before the end of the month - just mark time. And start with the next reduction on the 1st of the following month.
It is not a weekly thing. The whole premise of dsns is to ease your body into accepting a lower dose across a number of days. The reduction recommended by drs from say 10mg to 9mg is expected to occur overnight. The body sometimes rejects that and you get severe withdrawal and a potential flare. By easing your body into a lower dose over 28 days....it doesn't get the same shock. It's a bit like you diving into a pool of ice cold water, versus dipping your toe, ankle, knee etc in getting used to the cold. A sudden submersion hurts and has your body gasping. Putting your toe in the water gets you used to the cold and lessens the gasp.
This was my taper plan....
So at 10mg, the new dose is 9mg. The actual days if the week don't matter.
Day1 9mg (new)
Day2 10mg (old)
Day3 10mg
Day4 10mg
Day5 10mg
Day6 10mg
Day7 10mg
Day8 9mg
Day9 10mg
Day10 10mg
Day11 10mg
Day12 10mg
Day13 10mg
Day14 9mg
Day15 10mg
Day16 10mg
Day17 10mg
Day18 10mg
Day19 9mg
Day20 10mg
Day21 10mg
Day22 10mg
Day23 9mg
Day24 10mg
Day25 10mg
Day26 9mg
Day27 10mg
Day28 9mg
Day29 9mg
Day30 9mg
Day31 9mg
Then I would stay a week or two at the 9mg to make sure it was sticking.
Using the DSNS method I reduced my steroid doses down to zero. That was a year ago. It worked and - fingers crossed of course - no relapses. I could not have done it without this method. I had a simple spreadsheet, which I updated monthly, so I knew what to take on any particular date but do whatever you find easiest. Go for it, the support from the wonderfully helpful members of this group is invaluable.
