Positive hospital experience.

I just wanted to write a POSITIVE comment. I live in a rural area where there are not many cases of Covid 19 I know but last night I had to go to NHS 24 at the local hospital because of a sore eye and sore jaw and I was very aware that having polymyalgia it could be GCA. The place was empty- the staff were positively bored and there was no one else there- plenty of PPE and I had a very positive, speedy and extremely helpful experience. Don’t be afraid of going to be checked up if you need to be..... not GCA luckily! I know the more highly populated areas are much, much busier but we all need help regardless. We are lucky here in South Scotland and I know we are all aware of that. Stay safe but look after yourselves.

Hi bubble56, glad you had a good experience but still be vigilant re gca. Did they say what it was?

I think a lot of acc and emergency depts are not as busy as usual. I certainly bet Friday and Saturday nights aren't busy?!!

Yes they said it was an eye infection due to a corneal scratch and with antibiotics it is heaps better today thank you.

Apparently no contact sports or drunken fights are making the biggest difference in our area. As far as my jaw pain is concerned I think it’s toothache!!🙊

Orajel might help and salt water gargles until it settles or you see the dentist.

That came along with GCA ( Vive La France and those those medieval monks).

The t'others were Mam's idea of medicines and she did not drink..........they were medicines in her eyes oh and port🤔 (which I still loathe) 😈

Still have a bottle of oil of cloves but it's redundant; plastic teeth don't ache!

I remember feeling so grown up as I’d had brandy , thought it was the real thing !

🤣😂🤣...I suppose the branded spelling on my bottle should have been a clue.

That's good to hear - and much what I suspected though. I'm sure my daughter would swop - she's in Forth Valley!
