It looks to me like the sign telling you there is a run off to the left which also appears to be fairly steep at the top. But then - seen lots of them ...

The mouse Jerry played evil tricks on poor Tom the cat Like turning signs around and he would hurtle down a black run or into a pit. How could you not like Tom and Jerry? Was it Yogee Bear and Booboo for you or Deputy Daug? The Flintstones?
Topcat was my favourite
I'm like Poops - none of them ever really appealed. There was a rather restricted choice of channels where I lived which probably contributed.
