I am on 15 mg of meds , notice the passed few week my left eye goes blurry at times. Do you think it has anything to do with PMR? Maybe time to get my eye checked... problem is everything is closed for a few weeks because of coronavirus.

Have you got any other symptoms Chevy?

It is worth checking if it is possible to have this checked , especially if you are getting visual disturbances, Pain , dizziness , persistent temple headache or has pain as these are signs of GCA .

Even if blurred vision is your only symptom it is worth contacting your optician and asking for advice , they may still have available appointments at the moment but this may change later on .

Everything is shut down for a few weeks if not longer.

You do get intermittent blurred vision with Pred but of course eye symptoms can alert us to GCA which has to be dealt with as an emergency - double vision, temporary sight loss in particular. My Optician was open yesterday, if you have a well equipped one, they could take a look.

Hello, at the very least get some telephone advice. It may just be the Pred has affected the ability to shift focus quickly and one’s eyes are unequal, hence the unilateral feel . Check to see if it happens when you go from one depth of field to another like read some print for 5 minutes then look out the window. It could also be pressure related or something else just as urgent as GCA for the eye or completely benign. In the current climate especially I certainly wouldn’t be bumping up Pred doses just in case without a medical opinion.

I get this. Optician unable to help. Dr unable to help. No idea what causes it. Some days I have to drive without my prescription glasses because I see better without them! As the Americans say "go figure"! X

I know to people who had the same, it turned out to be cataract.

Previous optician said I had one coming (don’t we all at a certain age?!) and latest optician said there was no sign of one! X

I am sure that Canada will have a system in place for contacting your medics.

You need to do this - remember when you were first diagnosed with PMR, it was explained to you the symptoms you should watch out for, just in case GCA came along.

Now I am not saying it has - but it needs to be discussed with your medical people.
