We went to Venice this past w/end and it was gloriously empty but now we are in self isolation. Thank God for food deliveries and nice neighbours. Stay well. X
Hubby and I are removing out outdoor clothes and dumping them in a plastic laundry bag, washing our hands, dropping the laundry right in the washer, and then heading directly for the shower when we come in from being anywhere near other people.
It's very hard to keep a distance of 6 feet from others in NYC.
I never thought about using my Tree cutting headphone , visor ensemble to keep out the dreaded bug.
My eldest Erics current rant is looking at the news and saying , " well that's just a dust mask , pointless , that's a paint mask , that med mask isn't micro grade....."
I was saying to Scats and YB that she feels well covered at work in the Prop making workshop as they all have one of those superior grade all purpose full face masks ( much like my own for sculpting ) we considered joining the apocalypse in matching urban activist attire when she visited at the weekend.
I like the fact that your link includes some lovely Venetian style masquerade masks between the industrial visors , do you think such a pretty fashion item would do the job ?
It would be nice to think so , maybe I could just wear one over my gas mask !😋😂😂😂😘
If you have ever seen a fellow worker negotiating one to pick their nose while taking a break in activities you could guess how effective that can be 😋😂😂😂
I saw two people last week meeting in the street then they lifted up their masks and placed them on the top of their heads so that they could have a proper chat!!
Assuming that people think before they act seems to be the flaw in the plan all round at the moment , doesn't it 😘😘😍
The local mayor was forced to post on FB last night pointing out that teenagers hanging out together in groups on street corners or pensioners meeting in the cafe as usual was not exactly the way the lockdown was likely to succeed.
I read that too quickly and thought it said teenagers were hanging out on street corners with pensioners , well as long as there aren't 1000 of them in one place they probably thought they'd be alright😋😂😂😂
Any size gatherings are banned here - you had to keep a metre distance anyway - that would be a big cafe ... A couple of bars were fined/closed for not making sure that was happening. One new bar in Bozen was having its opening party - the police turned up and promptly closed it again. Not sure if it is permanent. But now all of them are closed - you can't even go for lunch if you are a workman which is a bit of a change.
yet to see..bird-beak style masks as worn by 16th c plague doctors; fencing masks [or d.i.y ones made from kitchen sieve]; victorian lady's riding habit hat and veil pulled down over face [for steampunk fans]..the idea is simply to prevent you touching your face while out and about whereby any potential infection on your hands could be transmitted to your mouth, nose or eyes.
Evryone needs to adopt the walking style where you pin your arms to your side and just silly walk keeping hands below re waist... With the bird beak masks it should look a treat.
I posted this elsewhere the other day. Someone told me that the advice she got from a relative who works in crisis management is to try and concentrate not on stopping touching your face but simply on not raising your hands above shoulder level. Apparently it's supposed to help......?
That's what I thi k. I walk straight in and scrub my hands and face after.... and then I reckon I only touched outside door handle so I am OK. I do rinse and sanitise my hands after playing with the dog and feeding etc but have always done that. I think the entry hand-wash is more thorough.
