Parker and M’Lady A Difficult Day

"Today was a Difficult Day," said Mi’Lady

There was a pause.

"Do you want to talk about it?" asked Parker

"No," said M’Lady after a bit. "No, I don't think I do."

"That's okay," said Parker, and he came and sat beside his friend.

"What are you doing?" asked M’Lady.

"Nothing, really," said Parker. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don't feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either.

"But goodness," continued Parker, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you've got someone there for you. And I'll always be here for you, M’Lady."

And as M’Lady sat there, working through in her head her Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Parker sat next to her quietly, swinging his little skinny legs...she thought that her best friend had never been more right.

Extract from A.A. Milne Winnie the Pooh adapted for HU.

Sending thoughts to those having a Difficult Day today and hope you have your own Parker or Furry Friend to sit beside you 🧡

Parker is learning very fast under your tutoring, but I never thought of comparing him to Winnie the Pooh!

Lovely post Estelle, thankyou.

Lovely,

My own Parker is more ethereal nowadays, but he still comforts me on difficult days

What a lovely bit of Winnie the Pooh ; it was a good start to my birthday! My hairy friend, Martha and I have been for a walk, wondering if the rain will ever stop .

Also wondering if it is a good thing that my diagnosis of PMR has been changed to OA of hip and spine!

Well, press on!

Doesn’t have to be a physical presence. Loved ones are always on your mind and in your heart.

Ah that's a lovely adaptation of Winnie the Pooh, hope the Difficult Days get less frequent.

Aaaw..... Its lovely.

We can't imagine what Difficult Days you and Parker have had since being flooded out of your home. Everything involved with getting it back to a 'new normal' must certainly have taken its toll on your PMR and both of you in other ways.

How lovely of you to think of others at this Difficult Time for you. xx

Loved this and the quote “This was a difficult day”, so useful when you want to let others know how you are but don’t want to go onto a list of complaints. We all need that solid support ❤️💕

That's lovely. Having a friend just sitting with you, rather than trying to fix things sounds wonderful
