Hi I've been taking pred for three years for pmr,its certainly a very slow process, this year has been very hard as I've picked up a virus which took weeks to go,and shot my bp up sky high I'm presently taking 9mg hoping to reduce another one next week.I have learned the hard way things don't always go to plan.I don't sleep very well, and I've found taking half my meds in the morning and 5mg at 9pm has helped me with pain in my hips and thighs, I must say the support and knowledge I've gained from our group has kept me from some very dark times, I hope this helps a little good luck,

Hi there, I’ve been at this almost 4 years now. It has definitely changed my life, and yes just as we moved to a new town. Not much can be done about it though, I still try to learn something from all this. I wonder frequently what my life would be like in a new place without this illness. As crazy as it sounds I’m thankful for who I am now.
I hope you can find the level of prednisone that will make you feel well now .
I keep thinking that I must take better care of my physical fitness because one day I will step back into the world of the well with a bit of luck. I am helped by the fact that my body actually hates carbs, sugar and alcohol ( I do try now and then just in case this changes, it doesn’t) and I like walking on flat level ground. I love nature and now have 12 sunflower seed, attracted golden finches living in the small Laurel tree opposite my kitchen window.
This time to stop and stare does have its advantages after a pretty stressy life.
Hi I'm trying to walk more,I belong to a walking group, we are all getting on a bit a couple in their eighties, sometimes Ive had to put the walls on hold for a while ,but the laughs we all have together its a tonic ,I'm bowling indoors, keeping going I've had my share of inactivity, and I know it's hard to keep your mental health up,but if you can keep mobile it's great.
