Diet to help Stress
The dinner menu just makes me feel yuk!! OTOH, the icecream and hot fudge would be dessert for a week ...
I am sure we all have days like that... Not since work for meπ
At the risk of upsetting people from across the Atlantic.. I had an oreo once when they came to the UK about 10yearz ago...π Why are they so popular?
They are actually one biscuit I quite like. Especially double stuff ... But I suspect the US version are different ...
Maybe so. Even though I like chocolate I am neither a chocolate biscuit nor cake lover so perhaps not best judge. A tub of vanilla ice cream all the way..... Hopefullyπ¦π€
Because of numerous midnight conversations with Blearyeyed and her frequent trips to get ice cream i am now the proud owner of an ice cream maker. This poor appliance has been in constant use since it arrived last week and has had to be prised from OH hands after every batch! Good thing is i can leave out any sugar!!
It's a different animal than has been sat sitting in tubs isn't it. My dog was really fond of it and when it beeped came a running. Obviously certain thigs I can't have now. I used a couple of spoons of lemon curd to make lemon froyo. There were also forest fruit and an alfonso mango pure flavoured sauce in tesco. I only used a spoon full in small mixture. They were delicious. Now I would just buy frozen fruits and use them. Half milk and half cream. π¦
The first batch was strawberry and although it had cream in it i only put a small amaount of half and half sugar in it and it still tasted good. You can put quark in it instead. The thing also makes yoghurt and sorbets!!
Brilliant.
Do you know if they work with soya milk? I have an ice cream maker and I've never used it......
My icecream maker is exactly the same as professional ones and they make non-dairy ices. Just seek out appropriate recipes.
Just to start
I haven't tried but there are lots of recipes for soya milk ice cream and dairy free yoghurt ice cream online.
I think because you break them apart and eat the vanilla filling first. It's a way to play with your food....
I don't like doing that with brit buiscits with cream centre. Only liked custard cream. I Liked playing with Iced gems.. Biting the sugar twirl off. π
Well, there you go, the Oreo is designed to be eaten that way, the others not so much. I actually don't eat commercial cookies, but when I did eat oreos it was only if broken apart with the filling eaten first. If you like you can then dip the crispy bit into your tea or coffee. There is even an icecream with mini oreos in it. I have also learned from Google that our oreos are not made by the same company as the US ones and apparently they now have multiple flavours south of the border. Gag.
My goodness ! Iβd forgotten all about iced Gems. I had to bite the sugar thing off first!
Exactly. I saw them in the supermarket a while back and had to walk past as fast as possible. Never good to test a chdhood memory..... Or have that amount of sugar now.
I think Oreos became known in the UK through ''Roseanne'' ( just as M&Ms became known through ''ET'') In both cases there is/was a far superior British version, Smarties in the case of M&Ms and Gypsy Creams in the case of Oreos.
I have an American acquaintance who stocks up with Smarties every time he visits the UK because he loves them so much, though I tend to think that at nearly 40 years old, he should have developed some rather more sophisticated tastes by now.
As for Gypsy Creams, as far as I know they are no longer made. There is a type of biscuit called Romany Creams - possibly the name was considered more politically correct - but they aren't widely available (mainly online) and are evidently made in South Africa. I haven't tried them but from the picture, they certainly aren't identical to Gypsy Creams.
I met Oreos when living in Germany nearly 40 years ago - a lot of friends were in the US army and we went to church on the base. Oreos and gypsy creams had nothing in common but the cream filling! Oreos are black - with a very definitive taste . GCs were lighter in colour and had an equally definitive taste ...
I just recall GCs being much nicer with an actual flavour rather than just sugar, but they seemed to be based on the same idea. I wouldn't go to war about it, especially since I no longer eat sugary items including biscuits.
Similar to you Poopadoop, I've only ever had less than one Oreo. They taste significantly worse than most other mass produced biscuits. We don't have biscuits in the house all the time and for the occasions when I do they are always homemade. I suspect from the colour that Oreos are meant to taste of chocolate and do they? I think not. They are just sugary bleugh
"The Oreo flavor does have a hint of cocoa flavor, a bit of chocolateyness and bitterness, but the flavor of the salt and the alkaline baking soda in them is at least as strong. If you taste carefully, you can also taste the Oreos from the last batch they mixed in. (This is a common industry practice.)"
from an opinion on a question online!!!!

It's statins that are main problem... I can have grapefruit again... Just in time for pomellos and sweeties...
hahahahahaha the best!
They usually prescribe for gca so it may be worth checking if they are thinking lvv or getting off it now dx Made
Large vessel vasculitis...
Have a look at this. Do nt forget pmr and gca are vascular conditions.
Yum!!π
Hahaa,
My stress diet would be the start of an intentional 3 day water fast that made it to 7 pm where I would drink a bottle of good wine, eat a brick of good cheese, hot bread then maybe the cheesecake π
ππππππππ
Now THAT is my sort of diet!!!
Yes, the only thing missing was gin and tonic and wine. As a veggie I would substitute the meat for lots if hot bubbling cheese
Iβm on it! π
Fabulous! I will leave out the chicken as I am veggie but the rest sounds delicious!

explains the aspirin/anticoagulant question.
Low dose aspirin was automatically prescribed for patients with GCA, it was thought to reduce the risk of clots forming. More recently it has been decided that the risks of low dose aspirin are in fact greater than their benefit because of the associated bleeding risk.
PMR/LVV/GCA form a spectrum of disease, probably all the same other than where they are seen. LVV is non-cerebral GCA in some cases - but it is rather more difficult to prove as GCA since biopsies of the large arteries are a bit problematic for obvious reasons. You can see inflammation with the right imaging though.
Imagine a whole row of smiley emojis here.
Actually, if one were looking for a diet to INDUCE stress, this one would serve very well!
ππ€£ππ€£ I really like that.. Thanks for brightening up my Monday morning...
Have a "good" week... π»

Love it! πππ
With the addition of a bacon butty to breakfast please. πππππ
Just what we need to cheer us up!!!!
