Help please, I have taken an extra dose of prednisolone

Presently I am on 4mg daily. Bad mix up I have taken another dose of 4mg, i.e. a total dose of 8mg. Should I keep taking an increased dose for a few days or should I go back to 4mg tomorrow?

Please don’t worry many of us have done this just take your normal dose tomorrow, meanwhile do enjoy today. Dot. 😊

We, or nearly 'all' we have done this at least once or forgotten to take them.

Just go back to where you were and treat today like a bonus.

I bought a dosset box after once forgetting and then later on taking double because I could not remember 'had I taken the doe or not? Filling it once a week or you can get monthly ones..............I leave it on the bedside table...............never did it again.

Hi HamishPMR. Don't worry you can go to 4mg tomorrow. You might find that you just have a really good day so don't overdo it. I have done it a couple of times....once at 13mg. I went through the house and garden like a dose of salts and couldn't move the next day!

Thank you for that Poopadoop, blooming Nora, I have no excuse. I am a retired pharmacist although it is 30 years since I was dispensing.

You don't need an excuse; it's kind of like losing your glasses and not remembering where you put them; eventually they turn up.

Just carry on as normal as everyone says. Why is it that I always forget mine and never take too many. Forgetting them is something not to be repeated!

Have both forgotten them and taken fives instead of ones. Neither seems to make much difference. Don't worry. Worst I ever did was put ear drops in my eyes instead of my Glaucoma drops.

Don't panic, a one off should be ok I would guess. It might be a problem if you took extra every day. But once will be fine
