I understand facial hair is one adverse reaction to Prednisone...I seem to have more now, so assume it is a result of Prednisone. I have tapered from 20 mg. to now 6 mg. Anyone else have this problem? Will it go away when I finally taper to no Prednisone?

Facial Hair
Hi gary1310...yes I certainly had an Elvis 70s style sideburns and 'stache at 15mg. It started to disappear at single figures more or less and I just had peach fuzz which could just be a post menopausal for me. I was never an hirsute person so I noticed it and just went with it believing it would disappear. My single figures has taken over 3 years.
Thank you...yes, those sideburns and ‘Stache”, will not be missed.
Mine went slowly, almost imperceptibly then one day is realised the coarse hair on my face had turned downy. Then another day it noticed that had all but gone once I was well into single figures.i already had some post menopausal hair on my face but this was worse, so I just grew my hair around my face until it went.
I had over-plucked my eyebrows as a teenager (ignoring all my mother's warnings 😉) and they never grew back properly again. Rather to my surprise when I started on highish doses of pred they regrew and got quite bushy again which I wasn’t too unhappy about.
However what was more unsettling was that hair grew above my eyebrows as if it was going to join up with my hairline! This had a bit of a werewolf vibe about it 🐺 and was not a great look to be honest.
However now that I’m down at 6mg the werewolf look has disappeared and my eyebrows are getting a bit sparser again. I didn’t seem to have extra hair growing elsewhere. I guess like with all things PMR we're all different.
🤣🤣🤣 sorry...that made me laugh...it wasn't a great look to be honest....🤭
Thank you....Wonder how the Werewolf look would go with my moon face?
You all make me feel better about the IPL laser hair removal kit I bought a few weeks ago during my very "low" period!
At the time I thought it was an impulse buy...as it was very out of character for me to splurge this way!!!
Thankfully to u all... i think it was a wise investment now! I had no idea extra hair growth was also on the PMR gift table!!!
Almost 8 weeks into treatment...and I think so far I'm ok...but I shall start using it just to be on the safe side!
Please let us know how it works,.....maybe I’ll invest.
You will have a long enduring relationship with your little razor. And plucking eye brows. Good luck.
I have a standing appt for facial waxing every 2 weeks so I dont look too furry!
I already had a fine peach fuzz post menopause so I already owned an epilator. About every six weeks after my evening facial cleanse I run the epilator over my skin before moisturising and that keeps me smooth.
The sensation is a bit prickly but bearable and better than a furry face.
Loads on the market from about £20 and can be used on the body too.
Thanks, think I need something like that.
