i am off prednisone for a month but am having pain at the back of my head.it is intermittent.
headache : i am off prednisone for a month but am... - PMRGCAuk
headache
I get head pain there, now I am on the low doses. Mine, I think, stems from Cervical Spondylosis . I had it before PMR the diagnosis. It went away until now. Like me though, be alert for new head pain, visual symptoms, pain whilst chewing that could indicate GCA. Perhaps have an X Ray?
In these situations I ask myself, if I hadn’t had PMR/GCA what would I think? Have I had it before apart from recently? Have I been doing anything repetitive, unusual or with bad posture? If I take the fear away, what does it feel like really? Does Paracetamol get rid of it? Is there any neck or shoulder tension?
Hi piping9, this seems to be a recurring thing for you since very low dose. Did the Dr follow up his/her diagnosis of a disc/neck problem? Like sheffieldjane I have OA in my neck and once it starts aching you have to get on top of it and take pain killers for a few days to get them in your system. If that doesn't help then please see your Dr regarding the pain and try and get a firm diagnosis. It's not good for you to be worrying about it, as snazzy says tension can make it worse.🌻
As Snazzy says, Try taking a couple of paracetamol...that may help.
Could be your adrenal glands settling down and taking over from the the prednisone
Are you drinking enough water ? It's so important to keep hydrated...
Give the paracetamol a try with a full glass Of water.
If the pains continue, then I would have a quick word with your GP.
Headaches, as you know, can be stress related.
Take it easy, and let us know how things are fairing. 🙏
