I feel great. What's happened? Are my adrenals working?

For the first time in 3 years and 4 months I do not feel sick. I was wrestling with hip and pelvis pain for several months which was determined to be from a hip impingement. After a steriod shot there I now feel well all over. Thinking at first it was the effects of the shot i was being cautious in thinking this overall good feeling wouldn't last. It has been a week and I still feel well. No more putting heat pads on and waiting two hours to feel better. I get up and have energy to do whatever I need to do. No pain, no fatigue... I can't believe it!!! I do take my pred at 2:30 am to ward off the inflammation.

I have been around 7 for the last year so am going to start a reduction to 6.5 and see how it goes. Could it be that my adrenal glands have come to life and I am at the perfect dose (or more)? Could the PMR be finally heading off into the sunset? I get steroid shots in my neck once a year and have never felt good all over like this. Only in the evening after when the anesthesia is coursing thru me.

Grateful for any thoughts or insights as always,

Terri

PMR 3 years, 4 months, 7 mgs. Just a cheery picture I found for you all.

Shhhhhh - fingers crossed you are entering the final straight!!!!! The proof of both puddings will be in the ability to reduce the pred dose slowly and steadily. Don't get the bit between your teeth though.

All the very best

Do hope so, but as herself wisely said - don’t get carried away! Still slowly does it!

We will see how life progresses. Even well there are many lessons I am keeping. Not pushing myself and doing what I want each day are two of them.

That's really good news! I hope you stay well. Don't focus on symptoms because you could very well be in remission. Just be aware of negative symptoms if they come on and stop doing whatever you're doing. Blessings!
