Just want to say as a new member that your discussions have been soothing to me--just knowing I am not going crazy, that these ups and downs are common. Do I like it? no, but I can better accept the fact that now my buttocks hurt. It's just one side, which I thought was never PMR, but who knows. I do worry a bit as I follow an oncologist for the MGUS and dreaded M spike which can ultimately be myeloma. Some days I think Oh, dear, this is NOT PMR but I've progressed to MM. Then I look at the posts here and feel a bit more confident. Mid June is another checkup for the MGUS, and then I can relax another 3 months. I really thought the prednisone was bang, situation addressed, all over! And now I realize it is a "Journey," so thank you.

Yes it is a “journey” - but hopefully made easier with fellow travelers to help you!

Take care,

The buttock pain could be piriformis syndrome or sciatica. Unfortunately, we are not immune to other things. I agree with you about the site, it’s held my hand for 3+ years.

well, THREE YEARS isn't exactly what I've been planning on! But I will deal with whatever is sent my way and do it with a smile. I've never been a "downer" and don't intend to start now. thanks! By the way, does that mean you've had GOOD times in the 2 years, I hope?

I won't tell you how long I've been on the journey but I can assure you that the bad bits weren't the PMR itself (though it joined in for some of the time) but the couple of other only-sort-of related nasties that jumped out to trip me up! Otherwise it's been a pretty good life all things considered. Not quite what I'd have chosen of my own free will but could have been worse.

"three years isn't exactly what I've been planning on"!!!!! How many of us have thought that? We all think "not me - I'm a healthy, positive person".

Cross fingers and listen to your body, and the marvellous people on this site.
