maybe forgotten to take prednisolone

I’m on 10mg prednisolone and I can’t remember whether I took them this morning. I don’t know if I should take another 10mg or leave it until tomorrow.

What should I do.

I did this last week. I wasn't sure so took my usual dose, it was fine. I don't know if that's the right thing to do though so I'd wait for someone wiser to come along.

As you have been stuttering a bit lately, I’d be inclined to take 10mg - better too much for one day than risk flaring up again.

But do get yourself a dosette container, sort out the week’s tablets during a quiet time, and then you can see at a glance if you’ve taken each day’s.

And I was about to say exactly the same!!! Everyone has done it at some point - and usually better one day with double the dose than one with none at all!

I had one of those days yesterday. I have a dosette box thank goodness and only on moving it did I see I had not had the days pred, despite having the banana! I took the dose, albeit 3 hours late and forgot other things during the day too. As a usually organised person (well, pre pmr anyway) yesterday was not good for the soul.

Write the day and date you started that box on the front then you can at least count back to see whether you've taken the day's dose.x

There are some good dosette boxes on Amazon (Auvon). I use their weekly box which has 7 smaller boxes inside marked up with each day of the week and in different colours. Each daily box has 3 sections for breakfast, lunch and evening. I put the actual date on each box with a sharpie pen (it’s easily removed with a small amount of nail polish remover). I have four sets of boxes and make them up a month in advance. (I’m on 9 prescription meds and supplements and would get in a mess without my boxes.) Also each daily box can be removed and put in your bag if you are out and about. 🌸

This is my system too Tiggy except that my Auvon boxes have four sections. I don’t include my pred in them due to lack of space (I’m on 20+ pills a day) . Also because of tapering I only count the pred one week in advance.

These dossett boxes are almost literally life savers aren’t they? 😊

Yes, I’d be lost without my boxes. I don’t look forward to the day each month when I make up my months boxes. Seeing all those pills laid out on the table depresses me but I’m always pleased when it’s done as it saves so much hassle. If I’m doing a taper I do put my pred in the boxes and write each days dose with my sharpie on each box. If the taper doesn’t work and I flare I go back to the boxes and make any adjustments.🌸

I have a night time routine of putting my meds out in a little clear container the night before, then I can see that I've taken them
