Trouble 1602 reporting back

HI all

well two and half weeks now since I passed out in church and spent 9 hours in A&E bed.

Saw my own wonderful GP yesterday - his reaction to the report from hospital was that they should have started treatment immediately and that the referral to my Rheumy was wrong, I should have been seen by an endoctronologist [?]

They had diagnosed correctly in A&E that my Cortisol levels were low.

In fact my GP was very concerned as my level was 79, which he says is very low.

He also said that he would not wait for a referral to go through but has started me on Hydrocortisone twice a day.

He will see me again in 2 weeks and hoped for a positive response from my body.

The thing is he said my cortisol was low due to my Pred reduction - even though I was trying to follow Rheumy's instructions but going very, very slowly on the taper.

He seems to think that my adrenals should have kicked in to cover the shortfall.

I am hoping for improvement in the way I feel and the extreme fatigue/

So. that's where I am at.

Thanks again for all your help and support over this trying time/

Love Cath xxx

Endocrinologist - sensible GP, quite right in that they could have got an endo in to see you in A&E, they had got past the 4 hours so had to admit you anyway. Sending you home without management in place was asking for another episode.

Thank you so do I. Have to miss the family get together this weekend to celebrate eldest granddaughter's engagement but they both understand. Too risky. Xxx

Sorry you are going to miss the family celebration,l hope you will be able to be part of it via Skype or FaceTime.

That's a great idea. Skype/facetime made for such things. They don't have to see you if you feel a bit tired and emotional after your travails as long as you see them.

Not what you're looking for?
