Hi all have reduced pred to 5mg for a week now but have been having really painful back spasms & hands have been locking up is this because I’ve reduced ? Plus this morning had jaw pain for a while but it went away after half hour

It could be - if it were me I would go back to the previous dose and if that helps wait a month before trying again. If it doesn't - think again.

Last Wednesday I did and in the evening felt exhausted but the last few days mostly in the garden with the grandkids so just pottering around

I am at your level and have severe low back pain if I stand for any length of time. I think the lack of Pred is revealing other damage.

That was what I experienced - all muscle spasm and sacroiliac joint problems as a result.

Jane Dear, I'm having the same problems, but in the meanwhile I'm trying to stick it out without upping Prednisone. Took a couple of paracetamol...

I've been extra busy the past two weeks with the grandchildren, and I've probably over done things.

I think I might be having withdrawal symptoms and exhaustion in addition. On the 30th I have GP appointment and will request blood tests.

In the meanwhile I'm taking it easy.

Take it easier Jane and rest.

On tapering, I have found that other problems such as arthritis begin again, but I am persevering. I have tried slightly increasing magnesium, occasionally taking a couple of aspirin. I do seem to get enough relief for me to continue on low dose of prednisone. I have just received a small bottle of hemp oil, which I will try when I can determine dosage.
