My second appointment with the rheumatologist is 3/5. What should I expect and is there questions I should have.
First appointment had to get blood work and a shoulder x-ray. They said I have PMR 30 mg of prednisone

I would be armed with the knowledge of tapering gained from this site or charity and try to take charge of a gentle, slow taper from the outset. I would request a Dexa Scan for bone density before agreeing to take Alendronic Acid or similar ( research that too, side effects are significant). I would ensure that I was taking Calcium, vit D and vit K for my bones. I would jot down any questions and symptoms so far. I was given a booklet to record my taper, which was helpful. I would organise a thorough eye check with or without your Rheumatologist’s help. You could take notes of key points especially as your head is probably all over the place. Good luck!
All good advice Jane! I agree. I would add that the journey takes an emotional and physical tole on the body. The doctor may say you are doing great, but still have extreme fatigue, pain, and other annoying symptoms or side effects. Be gentle with yourself as you adjust to this disease. Make sure you had a Flu Shot and Pneumonia Shot. Our immune system is suppressed.
