My brother had a giddy problem, he got very dizzy when standing up in the morning particularly. His doctor was not sure. I then saw a TV programme about the Epley manoeuvre which cured someone with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. My brother went to a cranial physio who sorted it out and he could not believe the instant recovery and it cost thirty pounds, it took a few minutes. Some GPs are happy to do it. You could check to see if your symptoms are similar.

You can do the maneuver yourself. Look it up on YouTube. I did, and it worked perfectly.

What is the maneuver called

Epley - only works for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo though.

I can get the most excruciating cricks in my neck. Have pretty severe osteoarthritis (not osteoporosis) in three neck (cervical) vertebrae. Physiotherapy exercises keep me from getting this pain, which will come back if I neglect to do them for a period of weeks. I believe they keep the muscles strong and supportive of the affected bones.

Are you sure you mean osteoporosis? Ibuprofen rub wouldn't help that - but it might help osteoARTHRITIS.

Yes it's osteoarthritis

You should maybe amend the title and your post then - it is rather confusing.

Do you have x-ray evidence it is OA?

Just wondered - muscle problems can cause similar symptoms.

If you look at your post you'll see a little arrow and the word More under it. Click on that and you will see an option to edit. You can edit the title (and anything else) in the post.
