Hi, I have got GCA and PMR. Had a flare before Christmas(of my PMR. Still struggling with

the dosage, but my question is has anyone else ever had tingling in their bottom lip. I only have it occasionally and it doesn't last very long, but my lip tingles in time to my heartbeat, Very strange , hope someone can shed some light on this.

Probably just a tic that makes you aware of a pulse - they happen in other places besides your wrist.

Thank you, I can stop worrying now hahaha

I don’t think it’s related to our conditions. The only similar thing I’ve had is following dental treatment. As if the injection had upset a nerve.

Morning Jean, It`s all to do with the artery wall in your lip. I still have it from time to time in my arm. I`ve done a bit of research which says it will go away of it`s own accord.

Thank you. It doesn't bother me except to start with when I thought it may be another sign of vascular deterioration, but I don't worry about it now.

I’m PMR only, and had a tingly-tic thing in my lower left lip through December and January. Think it’s gone now. (Shhh don’t speak too soon!) only seemed to happen of an evening, probably tired.

My MIL described a tingly-numbness of lips prior to being diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism. (Calcium control in bones and body, not the same as thyroid issues)

Thank you Soraya. That is interesting. I take D-cal as part of my regime but get a bit lazy and don't always remember. I have been more thorough recently so it will be interesting to see if I get it again.
