Please note that a number of posts and threads from recent days have been deleted. This is to give the forum a chance to settle after a difficult few days. Please do not be alarmed or offended if a thread you contributed to has disappeared. Moderation demands were simply greater than our current capacity to respond. Thank you.

Thanks Kate for clarifying your rather opaque previous Post (sorry - but that's how I and a few others saw it, despite your great reputation and efforts here).

I appreciate that you have probably been reeled-back into this forum as an Administrator after your recent departure. And, in tandem with your recent personal / family situation? I can relate professionally and personally...

All I will ask is: please, please, be Mindful in the tone and style of your Admin Posts with some (if not all) members who might feel that their contributions within this community are being censored for reasons unknown. There are some bridges to re-build after this recent storm which has battered many of us.

Wishing you well, and I hope this helps in the process.. ;-)

Thank you, MB. It is distressing, given how much kindness and goodwill there is here, as well as a bit of exuberance. It being the feeling of being scolded. JoA

Kate,

I fully understand the reasoning behind the removal of some posts and think it will help people regain what sanity we have left.

But it would also be good if some posts that start to go viral could be restricted.

When we write a post we have the option on who can reply, but we don't have an option to stop all replies.

Is there a way to get this added to the wishlist for the developers?

It would be nice to have it available when writing the post and after it has been posted.

Giving the writer and moderators the ability to stop replies could be useful. We are a growing community and as such we will go off topic and as we have seen sometimes the result can me many replies sometimes going even further from the original post.

Polywotsit , I've just read your other post on this topic, please thank your husband for allowing you to interup your evening to do work here.

I didn't know that moderators have to read every post, that is a huge job to do and as a volunteer.

Please pass my thnaks on to all of the moderators who help manage this place, it's not easy to decide what to do when things go awry.

Firstly, Kate, I would like to thank you for having written a fabulous and informative book, which I have read twice and keep referring to when I need some help. It also equipped me with knowledge and confidence in tackling a few difficult conversations with doctors. So a big thank you from me! Secondly, thank you also for trying to reinstate all the good outcomes that this forum was originally intended to make; I do find all the help and advice on here invaluable, and try to steer clear of issues which I find uncomfortable. I wish you all the very best for the future. If you write another book, let me know!! 🤣

Thanks to all for your kind comments and appreciations. We don't have to read everything, but quite often things are brought to our attention by the reporting system. Recent days have been exceptional. Can I now please request no more comments. If you wish to contact me personally please use chat. Thanks ever so much and have a good day.

Hi Kate, huge thanks for all your posts and help over the years. I never saw any opacity in your post that was referred to above, it was clear and concise as ever. I truly hope we can get back to basics and lose the over the top and frequently lengthy ‘amusing’ posts and stick to what we were originally here for. I hope you were able to resume your husbands birthday celebrations in good style. Best wishes.
