These are the trauma teddies that I make to be given to the ambulance and police service for children in distressing situations. It was started by an ambulance driver who gave a child a teddy and they were so comforted by it that he requested groups to make these and now they are done by hundreds of groups and individuals. The pattern can be accessed on line by just typing in Trauma teddies. Val xx

Trauma teddies
What a great idea. Love it ❤️
Are you in the UK. If so, where can I get invoked in making these?
Hi Footfairy. Yes I am in Wales and you could type in Trauma teddies on line and the pattern can be accessed and other information about where to take them. Happy knitting. Val x
I think there are probably volunteers in many countries making similar items. Here our local children's hospital has a knitting pattern for what they call "comfort" dolls and teddies. halifaxcharityknitters.word...
I note someone from Australia commented in the thread.
Marvellous! I never progressed beyond knitting squares for Oxfam, but I would buy 4. X
Knitting squares for Oxfam is still being productive. I struggled joining the squares together that takes patience. val x
Ohhhhhhhh Sorop, They are adorable! What an amazing idea!!!!! Good on you!!!!!
I wonder if some of our older, ill, alone, frightened friends could benefit from something like this?
Hello mamic. Yes I am sure you are right they are like comforters. Every time I make one I feel as though I have given birth ! Val x
I'll bet you do! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 . Good job you for making them!!!!
Melissa that is just like you. Big hearted and wonderful. Yes I bet the teddies would help so many xxxxxxxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They are lovely, well done for making all those.
These are great! How wonderful of you to spend so much time making them.
Val this is MAGNIFICENT. I am super impressed. Thank you so much for doing something so wonderful. I have no doubt that you have made a massive difference to the experience of a child who is in pain and frightened ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can only knit plain and in straight lines. I’ve knitted about 500 big squares for a Domestic Violence refuge. The squares get crocheted up by other volunteers then given to the refuge so that when each woman moves on they get a colourful blanket or scarf made with love by another woman xxxx
I love this idea!! Well done, I'll have a look online xx🐻🐻
