Hi, In a weird place emotionally, but genuinely "feeling" all the love and caring you have been pouring out... thank you, thank you, thank you! Feeling better physically; saw GP yesterday and she said it was just a "virus." Quelle surprise! Another f**king virus.
Exploring some new depths, but hope to be back soon.
So pleased you are feeling a little better physically, hopefully the rest of you will soon follow. I love how the docs say JUST a virus. 🤬 All my good wishes that you feel much better very soon. Hugs and 💐
Viruses are not as benign as we are led to believe by “ just a virus” talk. They can be very nasty indeed, landing some of us with autoimmune diseases. You must have suffered horribly. I would imagine that the two bouts are probably from one virus. As I expressed privately, thinking about you and willing you well Meliss! Xxx 🌸🌹🌹🌸
Thinking of you M! Did you get the pain sort of sorted? Pain ain't normal! One begins to wish that pain would rain down on these docs so they could get some understanding of what it means to have no relief from it, then perhaps they would put a bit not a lot more effort into helping their suffering patients!
Oh ha yeah .I have been told PMR is just a virus .It lasts years .Just a virus indeed.Spoken by a true insensetive huh .Hang on in there ,shout us as you surface ,You are not drowning ,just keep waving we will see you , hope you feel a little stronger every day .
One doctor who had ignored my symptoms for well over a year .Stated it is often caused by a virus .Thats after more than a year of here have some more painkillers as I became more and more debilitated .Virus is a bad doctors cop out word sometimes I think it translates to DUNNO ??
Very probably - but she is wrong, a specific viral cause of PMR was dismissed years ago. Of course, it may be a viral infection that is the final straw that sends the immune system into a tailspin. But that is NOT the same thing at all.
I said over on LupusUK the other day - I don't mind them not knowing , but for goodness sake, admit you aren't omniscient!!!! Then I'll consider trusting you rather more!
A virus, the doctors answer to everything. I do hope you continue to improve and quickly. It’s amazing the inner resources we have even when the world seems black. Hang in there. Don’t let the b*****s get you down!
You have definitely had your share of "challenges". Speaking for myself I can say I have been in a "weird"place since this PMR came to me. I am sure there are many others who are in that same boat
No such thing as " just a virus" with GCAPMR. It can be devasting. So pleased you are feeling a little better. Praying you'll soon improve a lot more. Take care x
What they really mean by "just a virus" is that there is nothing else identifiable that can be treated - viruses are generally self-limiting and there are very few for which there are treatments...
Sorry you have not been feeling at all well, viruses can be really nasty ,take it easy and l hope you feel much better soon, sending caring thoughts and big hugs mamici xxx.
Thinking of you Melissa - 'viruses' can be utterly rotten and swoop at the worst of times - just pleased you sound a tiny bit better - much love XXXX R & D
Aww mamici 😕😔 new depths indeed. Next step onwards and upwards 🤞 you really must be glad to see the back of 2018. This year must be better for you. I insist! 💐
Hope you are feeling a bit better now. I don't know if this info will help or if you can manage to do it. My John has been seriously ill this year and because his immune system is low due to repeated sepsis we have to be very careful.
Do you think your body needs a complete rest, even when you feel a bit better. Try not to mix with anyone, eat well ( with treats ). Of course, and walk daily. Longer when the sun shines. You are very vulnerable after all your problems so take great care Jen x
