Greetings All
Well, just a (not-so, as usual - ha!) quick one now that HRH, Phil and their Entourage have finally disappeared in a billowing cloud of Rolls Royce exhaust smoke (Royal Blue-coloured of course - the old ones burn oil like no-one's business). Shame they don't just get a Nissan Qashqai or a common or garden Mercedes Limo like everyone else seems to drive nowadays? And, they wouldn't get noticed as much. But that's Royal Motoring Tradition for you I suppose..
And their 20 various Aides, Valets, Equerries, Bodyguards, Ladies in Waiting etc bundled hastily onto the no. 27 bus from WSM back to Jolly Old Windsor - or wherever. Who are they going to descend on and (q. Liz) 'Sofa Surf' next? All I can say is: 'Gawd Elp Em All, Gor Blimey Guvnor'.
Today:
Mopping-up generally after One's invasion. You know the kind of thing: scraping congealed lumps of hastily spat-out Foie Gras and half-eaten Quails' eggs off the kitchen floor, hoovering-up various bits of diamond tiara and spare unused MBEs, decanting half-used magnums of vintage 1976 Bollinger into LIDL Prosecco bottles (always good to recycle these things), and nonchalantly telling the crowd of hungry Paparazzi waiting outside that 'it was just a visiting Queen tribute band - honest Guyz!'. That shut them up Good 'n' Proper.
Tonight:
After all the Crimbole excitement, I'm settling in with a glass-or-three of the Red Stuff, reflecting on the past year of PMR (or is it 17 - it seems like it sometimes) with all of its ups, downs, twists and turns, hopes and fears, fun and frolics (the latter, mainly courtesy of YOU SILLY LOT especially - Bless), and fiendishly plotting my re-integration into the Big World of Professional Work and Civilised Society (if The World and Society still exist Post Brexit?) in 2019. We'll see... ask me after January 19. Second thoughts, best find something better to do - this could go on for ages... :-D.
Before you ask: the hirsute and rascal-like Tedski is 'artistically' swinging from the various chandeliers (I only have 17) like Tarzan whilst smoking a Cuban cigar and taking large swigs from a bottle of Smirnoff. He reminds me of some kind of gender-reversed, alcohol-fuelled Pole Dancer. I blame his mysterious Eastern European origins - not to mention the influence of the equally mysterious 'Olga' - his alleged, er, well, you know. To be honest, I don't really know either ;-/
But the main event tonight on another New Year's Eve? Yep: a delightful authentic Indian CHICKEN TIKKA MADRAS: lovingly bought and frozen pre-Royal visit, and thawing as I speak. Ohh, CTM, Garlic Naan, Poppadoms, Mint Yoghurt and the obligatory if eye-watering Lime Pickle. As they say: 'No pain, no Gain'?
And, to enhance the New Year celebratory atmosphere: all consumed to the eclectic sounds of various classic Brazilian & Afro Latin Jazz tracks including Tito Puento, Hugh Masekela, Azymuth, Tania Maria, and a few dozen more. (Warning: Do Not Attempt to Listen to This Type of Music at Home Since It Will Probably Make Your Ears Bleed). But.. if any of You Lot are musically adventurous enough to want my Playlist: it'll cost you... :-D. All I can say is: Curry and Latin Jazz are for me, at least, a 'Heavenly' way to spend this Special Evening (or any other for that matter?). Job's a Good Un...
So, to all PMR / GCA Polymylingerers, Veterans, Newbies, Silent Lurkers, Aunties, and whoever amongst you are Bonkers enough to be reading this Nonsense on New Year's Eve (OMG - haven't you got better things to do?):
Just to say a Sincere THANK YOU ALL for being 'Here'. Without you and your well-intentioned (if often mis-guided - Ha?!) attempts to humour me and / or join-in with my silly ramblings, my own 3-ish Year PMR Journey would have been a much lonelier and less well-informed one. Whilst I often sow the seeds of Silly Mirth (allegedly) in this often serious social / health Community, it is in fact You Lot who cultivate them and make them blossom into a bright, happy flower for me too. So, thank you all - and Take a Bow!
All Best Wishes for a peaceful New Year 2019, and a healthy (er) one ahead.
As they say: 'Turn The Page'. And, as always, try to keep smiling and positive on the PMR / GCA Journey. This, Too, Will Pass
'Uncle' MB

[Ok Tedski: that's another one done - a bit like 'Lizzie's' Speech. NOW GET DOWN FROM THE BL**DY CHANDELIERS AND GET MY CURRY READY!!!]
