VERY familiar! I also look to see what needs doing, if I bend down. How times have changed.

Trouble is I find too much fluff/dust too so I’m inclined to think it’s not worth bending down.

You have to learn to prioritise - fluff is at the bottom of ANY list...

That's the problem with any housework - as soon as you've finished it starts ndoing!

I've always grumbled that people never notice when you've done the cleaning but they sure notice when you don't!

Constance13 profile image

Whoever would have the gall to make a comment/or be seen to “notice”.😡

My in-laws!

Blimey! You can’t even ignore them.😟

But, when you’re round “their place” you can be found looking in likely places for ‘some’ mess. Nobody is perfect!

Certainly does at the moment!

Additionally have been at son’s for Christmas, and he has stairs! I’ve lived in a bungalow for last 21 years, and my hip is not very happy at the moment with the extra effort!

I told my GP I now have difficulty getting up the stairs at home, and asking for his advice on how to deal with my mobility problem. He checked my notes and reminded me that I live in a bungalow.. :-D

You keep a lot of people happy, you make them smile/laugh - that’s a wonderful thing to do.

Well, I do my best to try to raise a giggle or two as an antidote to the more serious (but important) stuff here. My Philosophy: a few Smiles and some Laughter can help in the coping process with our types of illnesses, if nothing else (me included)? On the other hand, a few of You Lot seem to be semi (or Full Monty?) Bonkers in the first place - so it makes my job even easier! :-D

I know that feeling, and l do not vacuum as much as l used to,a lot of dust seems to collect behind the settee,a feather duster usually sorts that out !

Oh yes. I knelt on the kitchen floor and decided I didn’t like what I saw residing down there. I know it’s Christmas and there’s been a lot of food being prepared but how does so much finish up on the floor. Kitchen floor a lot cleaner when I had a furry mobile vacuum cleaner in the shape of a cocker spaniel!

HeronNS profile image
HeronNS in reply toJean56

In my new home, if I ever get into it, I'm considering getting a Roomba. My furry dusters will enjoy it too, I suspect!

And, yes, kitchen floors seem to breed food crumbs. Just as counters and table in our home cause paper to multiply beyond reason!

Jean56 profile image
Jean56

Good thinking. I miss my furry vacuum dreadfully but haven’t the energy to cope with a new dog and an aging and not very well husband. I content my self with being a doggy aunt and dog sitting for friends. Rather like grandchildren you can spoil them rotten and send them home. I’m fortunate I do have a cleaner, she tackles the floors and bathrooms. She’s worth her weight in gold. I hope it’s not long before you are settled in your new home. We’ve thought of downsizing but it’s too daunting! Happy New year to you, may 2019 be better for us all.

Too much of the late Summer Wine myself! Oh! Well Rock on as we do !
