I had fabulous relief for migraine but more as preventative than cure. But I don’t see how it could help with PMR or GCA. xxxxx

Thanks Daisy- what about prednisone side effects?

Yes long story. I got a lot of agitation which has resolved. Muscle weakness and a lot of bad temper. But my story is not typical as I was fast track reduced from 70 to 9 when they decided I didn’t have GCA. I think Ultimately it is a journey we all travel differently. Read as much as you can on here. I can’t stress enough how valuable this site is. Literally a life saver.

Same here, massage therapy and acupuncture more as a continuous sort of thing. I will do certain massage therapies specific to muscle regions or the occasional edema which knock on wood I haven’t had for some time now.

If you have the option it is probably worth a try - if it doesn't help you can stop.

Hi Mamici-

Yes ma’am! I am now at the hysterical woman phase😱 And very anxious to get to the “Om” phase. 🙆🏻‍♀️. I am also looking into therapeutic massage.

What is really freaking me out - is with all these prednisone drugs in me AND Actemra I now have pings of pain peeking through- what a vile disease where the cure doesn’t cure and you remain with symptoms sometimes and the Doctors really don’t know what’s what. They might as well give us All leeches!

So I am going local as they say in the Pacific Northwest🗻. I am not giving up my meds or doctors but I am supplementing with whatever I can to take the sting⛑ away. At the end of the day I am a fighter and I will not give into pain without a fight 🥊

Wish me luck! I will keep you posted on results.

I have no words... I'm so sorry. I just looked at my records and I was on between 80 and 60 mg between 04/12 to 18/02; so 62 days.... that's when I discovered "She Who Shant be Named," my creative muse! That was the only GOOD thing about that time!

Good luck "going local," but please be careful, some supplements are just as hideous as the freakin drungs!!!!! xxxx

No hocus pocus, supplements or “herbs”. Although I have been considering a certain type of brownie- HA- until we learned last weekend that the new ganja will either make

you a zombie or an anxious freak. And quite frankly I am already a hot mess so will stick to areas approved by my alleged medical professionals...what ever happened to the stuff that mellowed you out and gave you the giggles? We could all use a hit of that I think😎

Darling I use cannabis massage oil with the tbh (?) taken out. It helps. But I’m too scared to imbibe anything. Xx

acupuncture has certainly helped me as I have come down off the preds and even once when I was totally off them and flaring but trying not to go back on pred (so silly!) acupuncture actually got rid of the pain completely for a couple of days, I am now combining acupuncture with chinese medicine and dead slow tapering and down to 4.5 (but have flared twice previously) and feeling great, swimming 30 lengths, digging the garden loading wood etc - so worth a try. Trouble is with all these things not sure if its the acupuncture/chinese medicine thats helping or has the pmr finally gone away and just dealing with getting off the pred (been on it for 4 years now), all so much fun isn't it.
