Prednisolone and Flu Injection
No problem with me (touch wood, of course) with this winter's jab!
Yes - it MAY not develop as strong a reaction but is still far better than not having it.
I had no problems with it. It is more indicated for us because we have suppressed immunity.
I've had it since diagnosis of the AI. Prior to that I was wary as had it once, many years ago, and didn't feel that well afterwards. Now I don't have any reaction, and I'm very sensitive to lots of meds, but last year did get mild flu symptoms that took a while to go but I'd rather have those than full blown flu. Each year is a different strain of vaccine depending what germs have been floating around the world! That's the limit of my science! Last year was a bad year for flu in Australia and they reckon it came from there!
I have had it for past few years with no adverse affects .
I've not had a problem to date and I have GCA.
Dear prunus
Thank you for the information as I was going to ask this question. I also only have G.C.A. and have had the free version flu jab ever since I was 65 and was paying for it before for several years because I was looking after my ill wife Janet. Other than the onset of G.C.A. in 2013 and a very bad cold as a side effect of in 2017 caused by the infusion for Zoledronic Acid, I have been remarkably cold/flu free whilst having the jabs.
Best wishes
Colin
Yes, and advisable to avoid getting flu. I have my appointment on Saturday. Hope it is trouble / reaction free as I go into hospital for an op 9 days later.
Yep, got mine the other day. No problems, same as past 15 years.
Good insurance against a very serious illness.
