Love Mondays

Since leaving work forever Monday is my favourite day.I used to dread it on a Sunday evening.Monday at work was always manic and exhausting,I'm so glad I'm not there, don't think I could cope now😳

Tomorrow I have my long awaited rheumatology appointment, not sure what to say to him.I was referred October 17,I've been on this journey 2yrs+8mths.

What do you call someone who is happy on a Monday...retired😂

Sandrasn,

I fully agree! Retirement is great! The pressure is off and you can nap whenever you like. I have been retired for three years and I have no complaints. Good luck with your Rheumy appointment.

Good luck with your Rheumatologist appointment. I used to make a point of doing nice things on Monday’s after taking early retirement. I missed the Friday feeling so I made sure I volunteered on a Friday to be in the Law Courts on the day the mood lifted for the staff.

Now the days have begun to merge unfortunately. ☹️

Enjoy your Mondays for me. As someone who went to work again at age 60 I don’t know what that’s like. But also someone who works retail- I don’t even know what a “Monday” is. But I always try to celebrate Fridays as I remember FAC from college (Friday Afternoon Club) religiously. Hope the Rhummy goes well.

Oh yes! Monday morning, no work, sitting in bed drinking tea and looking forward to watching uninterrupted Wimbledon.

Yes , retirement is great!! Hubby and I were both teachers, so when we retired , we went away on holiday on first day of term in September. It was a great feeling!! 😃😃 Now, ten years down the line, I still enjoy the Sunday evenings , not getting my work stuff out👍👍👍👍!!!

Not having to get my uniform ready, scratching around looking for bus fare, but it was that awful dread I don't miss.Dreading what the general public would complain about and feeling so weary by 9am!😩

OMG! You were referred 9 months ago????

You could have conceived and birthed a perfect, human being in that time!!!!!!

Can I ask do you feel better generally since you finished work? Your health and energy? Thanks.

I certainly feel better since giving up,I had a flare just before leaving and that knocked me back.I feel more positive and do have a bit more energy.I have rough days when I do too much but its usually things I enjoy like day trips.I don't miss the stress!

Many thanks. Due to finish in 6 months - they kick us out at 60 - but my body is delighted but I worry about how my head will handle it!! Thank youj.

Various people told me I'd be bored, but I'm not at all.I made lists of all the things I wanted to do that I never had time for before eg a new hobby, visiting a new place,or just chilling in the garden.

I have been so busy since retirement it feels as if I need to go back to work to get rest. I had my first year on high dosages of prednisone where I was down n out but now the days fly by. I have my stamp collection n my painting and my busiest is studying Bible. I have found so many fascinating things in my studies, ufo’s, unicorns, and timeline for end of days. I needed to know when the FEMA camps will be put into use. Scary stuff going on here in USA.

Sometimes I have to look at the newspaper to find out what day it is, all the days are like a weekend, bliss. 😁😎

I am retiring early due to 2 yrs 5 months of pmr. I now work a half a day a week until Xmas then I am done. My goal in retirement is to take care of myself. I don't think I will have any problem keeping busy. Enjoying tea on the deck at the moment listening to the birds and watching for rabbits. 😎 Good for you. Congratulations!
