Wedding tomorrow!!

We are here in a very hot North Somerset for our sons wedding.I am a bit emotional but mainly because I only had 2 hours sleep last night. It was so hot and my mind wouldn't switch off.Its the big day soon, things not all gone to plan,so much traffic in Bristol that some family missed the rehearsal in Clevedon..The brides father has been taken into hospital so won't be able to give her away, she's so upset.I think I may take an extra mg of pred in the morning as it's going to be a long day😁.I forgot to bring my make up ...left it on the coffee table at home!!packing and pred head not a good idea.Looking forward to a lovely day though💕

These things seem to happen at weddings! Prince Charles had to step in for Megan Markle. Sounds like Valium or champagne might be more use for you. Have you got to speak? I did at my daughters and everyone cried. I could not do that with PMR, 5 years later. I forgot my makeup once and had such fun buying a new makeup bag and my basics, it was almost worth it. Gosh you are lucky with the weather. Have a wonderful time! 💘

Greetings Sandra, from my usual home in WSM in North 'Zummerzet' (although I'm replying from an equally sweltering Dorset just for this weekend!) ;-)

Only to say: try to keep a steady head and take everything in your stride. Yep, the ravages of all things PMR take their toll on us physiologically as well as emotionally (i.e. more frazzled, jangled etc?). So, no wonder also that you're reeling from a combination of the heat, family action / uncertainties etc! And, as for navigating in and out of Bristol... don't tell me about it!

Sounds like a good idea to toggle-upwards the Pred dosage a little during this frenetic period - I would do (and at times have done) the same. I think it's all about topping-up the supplementary Cortisol (energy?) supply when the natural Adrenal supply needs it? Only my thoughts...

Fingers crossed for you and your family for a happy event and celebration. Don't worry about forgetting the make-up. If it helps, I also regularly forget mine - but, fortunately, no-one notices! ;-) :-D

Hope all goes well.....stay calm and enjoy it....one day without PMR...you`ll have lovely memories!

Hi

A little extra Pred will not go amiss that’s for sure! I took extra when my eldest son got married two years ago, there are times when we really need to look after ourselves.

I’m sorry about the Brides Father & hope he gets well soon.

Hope you can replace your makeup this morning.

Have a Wonderful Day 🥂👰🏻🤵🏻🥂

Oh dear, the stuff of a sitcom, but not funny when you’re in it! Between you, me and the vicar I think a mg or two is excusable. Just not too much so you’re manic! Can the champagne toast be brought forward?? 😉

So, is Dad up to watching it on a phone? The bride could ‘carry him around’ and someone else can take over. Makeup can be borrowed but make sure it is from someone with good taste! From the privileged position of not being involved, apart from dad it could be worse. The weddings with disasters, and I’ve been to a few, have been fine when the bridal party makes the congregation aware, but I suspect you won’t need to apart from dad. The Dunkirk spirit that ensued either had people laughing along with or were able to support the family. It gets awkward when the bridal party tries to maintain stiff control, when a chuckle here and there would break the tension. The only time it didn’t work was when the two sides didn’t get on. What you don’t have right now is the wedding spirit when the day gets going and that papers over so many cracks so I’m sure it’ll be fine. Have you got someone you can ask to help you, to whom you can signal if you feel an attack of the vapours coming and you need to step out for a bit to regroup?

Hope dad is ok. Don't forget your hat!

Hi,

Good morning- and glorious again.

Hopefully all that can go wrong has, and today will be just perfect. Sorry about the bride’s father, but someone will escort her down the aisle.

Take an extra Pred, rustle up a bit of makeup from someone, or local chemist/supermarket, put on your gladrags👗 👡 (plus hat 👒-gonna be another scorcher). But most of all, enjoy! 🍾🥂

Hi Sandra’s. Take at least 3mgs more just for the day is my advice. My daughter got married last year and I went up to 10mgs from 7. That and a very strong cup of tea around 8 0 clock that my lovely son in law made me, got me through until 2am. Good luck with your day and enjoy every minute.

Happy Wedding Day!! I concur with earlier Post...take xtra pred...even 5 mg extra would not be too much for all the excitement of this day!

Congratulations to everyone, Take it easy and rest when u get little chances... a little cup of tea and a bit of bubbly will help.

🎉💓👏🏼
