Well of course we’ll all be lying in bed wide awake, wall eyed and worried about you now! I daren’t ask, I daren’t joke. What a shapely leg, talk tomorrow. 😧

in reply toSheffieldJane

Nooooooo,no worries! Pride hurt more than knee! It was the bad knee, so that's actually good! 🤣

I told you not to rush the stage!

Ouch though and shock though. I love the optimism that it was the bad knee anyway! 🤨

Melissa. That must have been a dirty tackle. Hope not too much damage done! ATB

Hahahahahahahahaha! It was indeed!!!!! Not too much damage, no. Bruised ego... more than anything. Oh and the 3/4 glass of wine!

I hope it happened on your way out and didn't interfere too much with your enjoyment of the concert.

Some years ago, pre PMR, I went to a Neil Diamond concert by myself. Got tix last minute. My seat was way up near God. Drove into parking lot and noted that most of it had been transformed into handicap parking for the heavily geriatric crowd. Feeling quite at home with that, I went inside the arena, climbed slowly up up up, took my seat and watched as others made the ascent.

It might as well have been Lourdes. Slow and painful climbs, walkers, canes etc. People stopping to catch their breath and people cheering each other onwards and upwards. Lots of comraderie. By the time the concert started we were one big friendly group of loudly singing and dancing old-timers.

What a wonderful night to remember. It was well worth the climb.

I hope you are ok and that pleasant memories will outweigh the painful ones. I agree. Nice leg.

Sounds wonderful!

in reply toHindags

That’s is such a good description, l could visualise it! 😂 Sounds like a good time was had by all! xx

in reply toHindags

Fabulous description!!!!! It sounds lovely!!!

As my hubby and I have gone to concerts in the past few years... I am always amazed at all the "old people" there... and then it hits me!!!

Ahhhhh, right.... I'm not 35 any more!

I'm am old people!!!!

in reply to

So true. When I got my free travel pass at 60 I was convinced I would be challenged & thus embarrassed! No way!! All these old people kept hitting on me for conversation!! You just have to mind your ankles & fingers when the doors open!!

in reply to

Hahahahaha... that's funny! "...convinced I would be challenged."

Ouch! It shakes you up as well as being deeply embarrassing! When I had the argument with the table earlier this year I hated admitting my black eyes and bruising were from a fall, just too ‘old lady!’ I’m sure the combination of your family and the concert outweighs the fall buts it’s very cruel.

in reply toJean56

OMG! No way... I would have told people I had gotten in a fight with a mugger... and I had won!!!!! Obviously!

Were you okay?

Jean56 profile image
Jean56 in reply to

I did try saying they should have seen the other person. It was a really nasty shock. I think I must have cracked my nose as it clicks when I wiggle it, sniff or wipe. I’ve been told I should have gone to A&E but all I wanted to do was lay down, the thought of sitting in the A&E department for hours was too horrific to contemplate. Because it was a visible injury I got lots of sympathy far more than I’ve ever had for the PMR problems.....irritating! It’s nearly 5 months since it happened so I presume my clicking nose will be with me for life.

in reply toJean56

Good on you! Keep em guessing!!!! I can't imagine! : O And "No," sitting in a medics tent did not sound appealing to me either. Kind of funny that every time you blow your nose, you'll think of that stupid table! ...or Mohammad Ali

Yes, it’s a side table my husband made, it’s very solid!

I did similar 2 wks ago - tripped over my feet in the supermarket car park. Down on both knees and hands. Bruised +++ and shaken up +++. Right knee very sore today when I knelt down to get a dish out of the pantry but otherwise seen to have healed ok. Had lots of people offer to help me up and walk me to the car.

in reply toJanicep

It's soooooo unnerving! You're like in shock and taken off guard... I'm happy you had lots of people to help too!

Oh Melissa! What are you like! We’ll await a Full Report! Hope you enjoyed the Concert despite this!.............

in reply to

Well... I think we ALL know what I'm like by now, don't we??? As my MOM also used to say, "Trouble, looking for a place to happen."

Concert was FAB!!!!! Thanks.

Well hope Melissa that it looks worse than it is and note that you were having a great day before all this happened. What are we going to do with you!!! Take more water next time!( English joke!) Joking aside- hope it heals well and hasn't shook you up too much xxx

in reply toJackoh

It does, thank you! What are we going to do with me??????? Funny, my Mom used to say that all the time... "Lissa.... what am I going to do with you?????" And I'd respond, "Put me in jail!" Not sure where I got that response, but at this rate perhaps a sign of things to come? Hahahahahahaha!

My husband explained the "take more water," comment!!! Too funny! I wish it had been whiskey that caused it, I wouldn't have felt it so much! ; )

Jackoh profile image
Jackoh in reply to

Yes we used to have same exchange at home" what am I going to do with you?!" But our retort was " put me in a big black bag and shake me up!!" 😳Don't know where that came from either but we all said it!! Xx

in reply toJackoh

Ohhhhh that's cute.... don't know why I thought I should be put in JAIL at the tender age of 6 or 7!!!! ; O

You don't need to! and through your jeans! - your knee looks swollen from your problem I guess, but this won't have helped, what are you like....hope you're okay and enjoyed the concert, will wait for the post mortem.

in reply toTelian

Yeah... knee was already swollen, and this did not help, but I'm happy it was this knee and not the GOOD knee!!!!
