Something has changed in my right lower leg over the last few days. Started with the Bank Holiday heat. It's not painful but it is swollen, feels different to touch as if it's full of swollen veins. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Could it be varicose veins?

Swollen leg
Hello Mow
It might be cellulitis. If it is quite swollen, red and hot you will need to get antibiotics from doctor or A & E ASAP.
Have a look on the NHS website for cellulitis and you will see pictures of this condition. You will then see if it looks like yours.
Best wishes
It could be Mowl, but it could also be DVT especially if it feels hot, this needs immediate medical attention because blood clots can move with catastrophic effects. So get it checked and let us know. Good luck!
Yes, Sheffieldjane is right be careful of a DVT!
Any new or unexplained swelling especially in one limb is very much worthy of a trip to the doctor today. If you have a clot it can be treated before it goes walkabout. Need to rule out other things too. As said, if it is hot and red or becomes painful, go today as well.
Not to scare mowl but, as already been said, it needs checking out urgently. Does it itch and is the area red?
Best wishes
Please get it checked by a doctor asap - even if it doesn't feel hot or look red it could still be a DVT. My husband had no signs at all of his except fidgeting when in the car (me driving luckily) because he couldn't get comfortable.
Yes do get it checked my daughter at 21 had a DVT and her whole leg was Gray and cold, since then I think anything different needs to be checked urgently. I hope it's not a DVT but it needs to be ruled out. I wish you all the best.
Thanks everyone for your concern and support. Swelling has gone down. It was never hot or painful but I must have bumped it somehow as a bruise is showing just below my knee and a couple more lower down.
