Useful inventions for PMR sufferers😀

I had intended to reflect on my recent experience of visiting the US but I'm far too jet lagged still so I thought I'd like to try to make a list of inventions I'd like to see (not to be taken too seriously!)

1. The first would be an energy monitor like my phone has. It would show how much energy I have left at any given moment and how long it would take to recharge. Idealky it would automaticalky switch into energy saving mode automatically when necessary too.

2. A walking stick that would automatically change into a comfortable seat/wheelchair or whatever else is required at the touch of a button.

3. A range of ready meals (or recioes) for energy depleted cooks and their spouses that fulfil whatever requirements that are needed e.g. plastic free, low calorie, fat egg, healthy, delicious or whatever your individual needs are. Energy requirements for cook need to be equivalent to opening a tin or packet and heating it up.

I get the impression that airlines make an attempt at this by trying to pack as many special needs into one as possible - gluten free meals usually seem to be low fat and bland too- it doesn't work as far as I'm concerned ☺

I can't think of anything else right now but I'm sure some of you will come up with other ideas

An afterthought- maybe it would be helpful if the energy monitor was visible to ones nearest and dearest too!

And perhaps a red flashing warning light when we are about to blow a gasket. Brilliant Louise! I hope you had a lovely time!

Right now I don't have enough energy to blow a gasket, more like collapse into a little puddle! I needed to blow a gasket yesterday when two of the grandchildren wouldn't do what I asked them. I'm afraid I crept away and left their parents to deal with it ☹

That is the beauty of being a granny. You can pick out all the good bits and leave the rest to mum and dad.

Agree wholeheartedly....especially energy monitor. Just think. Everyone would know when to take a step back and not try and overextend you.

2. There are walking sticks that convert to seats (wheelchairs would be pushing it .. oops, sorry), and the only thing I can think of would be a 'Beam Me Up, Scotty' transporter so we could go anywhere instantly - and maybe in the atom-reassembly the PMR would go missing!

in reply to Slowdown

I'll have a 'Beam Me Up, Scotty' transporter as well!

Oooooooo, may I please pre-order the "Energy Monitor?" I'll take two actually...

Yes really like the idea of energy monitor might be disappointing though if always lower than I think before I start- ever the optimist!!

Love it! I wish I knew when my spoons were done for the day or how many spoons some activities cost.
