Well just to keep you all posted. I had the photographs done today for my home. They were so nice. I would have bought my own home. Made me feel sad because I love my home. The saddest thought is leaving my famalon. I have Job centre tomorrow, what a joy. Need your go to classes to learn how to do a CV. Really. It'seems degrading. Then next day another appointment with themy to say and let them know by computer that I have been actively looking for work. PLEASE. WHAT ARE THEY ON ABOUT. WITH GIVING ME £300 pounds a month. If I have too I will seek a job myself for the future. And don't worry all I will have a doctor's appointment tomorrow with a very long sicknow note. Believe me. I have my mojo back and am sick to the back teeth of being messed around. To you all on here don't be messed around by anyone. I am sticking to my 7mgs a day. I am determined to beat this horrible snd debilitating illness. Just needed this rant. I am so angry after working for 45 years and being treated like this. Xx
Another day done.: Well just to keep you all posted... - PMRGCAuk
Another day done.
You go girl! Your warrior woke back up!
Good luck Morrison, after working for forty five years you deserve to be treated very much better, three hundred pounds a month is not enough to live on.please let us know how you get on.
Give them hell!🌻
What is famalon?
I was going to ask that, too, but forgot. Rather than go back and ask I made up my own answer and it's a typo for family. HA -- I'm probably way off.
Famalam is a BBC3 off the wall satire bbc.co.uk/programmes/b095dzjm and having read reviews I'm giving it a whirl... think it's slang for 'family and friends'.
Give them hell
Stick to your guns! The system is warped. Plan something nice after the visit to keep you sane, and good luck.
So pleased that you are back fighting. Just love the way people are treated by the jobsworth people giving you back the cash you have paid in while working. Like everyone who works for the state you are paying their wages! One of my sons who did electronic engineering at university had to go on a computer course while looking for work. First morning the instructors could not open the program so he let them struggle for a while then went and sorted it, but he still had to turn up each day!
All the best with your docs appointment, good long sick note and maybe some help with your problems.
All good wishes go get at ‘em 😡 take our hugs and support with you 💐
God I know morrison but don’t say any of that in the Jobcentre will you? I worked in one in the late 70s early 80s. I have heard that it is very harsh now and they have targets to get people off benefits. Don’t put any restrictions on your hours but make sure that they know that you have a serious systemic disease which severely limits your energy and you may have issues with Adrenaline. If they put you under pressure you must tell them how desperate you’ve been feeling ( that is in their guidance too). It’s not degrading, you’ll just be showing everyone else what to do at the course. See this as a temporary stop gap. I’d be in the same boat if my OH finally has had enough. From what you’ve told me about yours this is way better. I can imagine how you feel leaving your house. It happened to a friend of mine. She chose a new house for its huge overgrown garden, miles from where she used to live, because of cost. She has created the most beautiful garden you have ever seen. Her husband turned out to be a complete rotter. She is so happy and well now but she did get Fibromyalgia when it was all happening. That garden says it all. I was astonished.
What a wonderful story told by SheffieldJane - gardens CAN be so 'redeeming' when humans completely 'fail' to be half decent even to their 'nearest and dearest'. And YES I agree it is completely unfair morrison that you have to go through the whole job centre performance after so many years in the workforce and especially while you are unwell - I would certainly be as rattled as you - but SJ's advice to stay calm and 'calculated' is probably the best - the fact they have 'targets' is dreadful but also unsurprising. Australia is very similar unfortunately and is very rigidified in terms of allowances for people - even those in quite dire straits.
I hope your house sale brings you some more positive opportunities and you can find a pathway towards a much happier future - we are all behind you !!
Best wishes
Rimmy
Awful situation to be in Morrison but so pleased you have now got back your fighting spirit. Now all you need to do is channel this anger to bring about a good solution/ result for you with regards your home and work. Sometimes we just have to play the game, without losing our own self respect and self determination. You're going through a really difficult time but you'll get there!!
Two big stresses at once. Selling your house and dealing with the ‘ Job Centre’. Try to stay calculated with the JC as Rimmy suggested, it’s the only way, Lots of deep breaths, calm thoughts whilst there and vent your wrath on here.
Good luck on both fronts. Wishing you the best.
You go girl! We are all behind you. 🙋♀️
So glad you feel the rewards of your clean house. I love my home too but believe for you that if you sell there will be something wonderfully unexpected waiting for you on the other side. Feeling your pain and wishing you well. Xoxo
