Cough
Hi,
Don’t think it’s one of the more common ones, but never say never!
Other medication can cause it, so did you start anything else at same time?
It is listed as a side effect to be reported - because it can be the sign of an infection. What dose are you on?
I have never been affected by a cough . Have hopefully got down to 1mg after 3 years and 4 months .
I have now got glaucoma, after the first 6 months I devoloped osmaporosis . Please make sure you have eye tests regularly and at lest a DEXA scan . I was diagnosed by my doctors who didn’t see it nessesary to see a Rhumatologist . Being diagnosed with pneuma last March I got sent to see a Rhumatologist because they were worried about a high ESR . Thank goodness I did . She isn’t convinced re my PMR diagnoses . And it is thought my shoulder neck arm pains are because of a problem in my spine . So do ask to se a Rhumatologist please
Good luck Carol
I have both GCA and PMR and have had a dry, nagging cough for months... Actually, I have had since before I ever started on the Pred. I had a chest x-ray about 1 year ago and they said my lungs were clear. Maybe it's not associated with the Pred... Do you have PMR, GCA, or both?

PMRpro - 4 years ago - ".... The other possibility would be that you have GCA affecting the chest arteries - a persistent cough is a sign of GCA, but the Pred would have helped that, it did for me." healthunlocked.com/
I'm not a very good historian, but currently on 7mg pred. I tried 6mg but symptoms increased. I have an appt with DR next week and will mention it to him.
I have learned a lot since finding this forum a few weeks ago. Thanks everyone for your responses.
