"Joy, your labs look really good, I will print out those and look them over. I am intrigued by the Dead Slow regimen for tapering. If you have any more info on this, please bring it to our visit. Thanks

I had spoken to him about it briefly before and he expressed interest, but apparently he'd like a bit more information. I'm thrilled to be able to provide him with both DL's and PMRpro's plans along with the website for the taper program.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Just maybe his other patients will also be of benefit of your hard work!

And I’d add that a supportive doc also impacts on PMR, and (mostly) results in a smoother path. That extra fight with docs that many of us endure is injurious to our health.
What I"m thrilled about, too, is that he is a 'teaching physician' -- he has both medical students and residents/house officers/interns on his service. Just maybe this will have a ripple effect.
Now that's what I call a doctor - someone who obviously listens, works with his patient, is supportive and is happy to learn from his patient's experience. Heartwarming!
I also gave the tapering plan to my Doctor and we have been using it the past few months with no problems. Before,I kept getting withdrawal symptoms and flares. She took a copy of it for other patients!
