Very happy to report that after 2 months on CPAP have been able to remove my Hypertension medication. This means I am beginning to see my ankles and may even have normal size calves and ankles by Christmas!
Coming up to week 9 on Methotrexate and whilst my bloods are okay and I have no discernible side effects, I see no improvement in my PMR symptoms. Still on 10.5mgs of Pred and have spoons issues daily and body feels like I've been kicked by a horse (okay perhaps not quite that bad but.....) There is no point going back to Dr right now as I am awaiting my rheumy appt in Feb....we can then decide whether the Mx is worth continuing with.
Meanwhile....we're no longer a family of 2 here, we have a friend in need staying with us (6 weeks today). Mostly this is working well for us all and over last couple of days when I have been less well it's been a little stressful. Mainly we'll be fine though, not sure about Karen though
Hope all your Christmas plans are coming together. I don't feel very Christmassy despite being surrounded by paraphernalia and a large Christmas tree. We will be in a hotel over night Christmas Eve (I decided I was NOT doing Christmas meals this year) and will eat there on CE which is when the main meal for Christmas is eaten in France. I will be avoiding the oysters & foie gras. We'll be home on Christmas lunchtime however I will be doing brunch and we'll have the traditional (according to him indoors) Turkey and Chestnut stuffing sandwiches for supper.
Joyeux fêtes à tous. I hope Père Noël brings you all less pain and better health (and a clementine).

Think not doing the meal, which usually leads to full organisational workload is very sensible. I will follow your next journey I am on similar SSA and I do seem to feel a bit better but still have more days when batteries are flat. Am on 10mg pred and see rheumy end of Jan.
I hope you enjoy you holiday season and enjoy the tree!✊🌲
Can't remember when I last cooked an xmas dinner. May have to next year - which with my kitchen could be a rather fraught process!
We will have either steak or raclette on the 24th - I'm not paying for a hotel here at this time of year (high season plus) and everywhere in the village itself closes on the 24th to "do" xmas with the family. the 25th has become a tradition of pizza - they are open, the hotel is not! All back to normal on the 26th...
There is a small pile of xmas cards, there are pretty lights on the balcony - otherwise, bah humbug
Well done on the improvements. I'm not convicned you will see "improvements" in the PMR. At best you will be able to reduce the dose of pred without flaring.
