Good article in the Press and Journal (Scotland) yesterday, except in the caption, heading and within the article (every time), they referred to it as Arthritis instead of Arteritis. I think someone used spellcheck and accepted the "suggested spelling" instead of double checking with the writer of the article!
When spellcheck isn't helpful...: Good article in... - PMRGCAuk

Grrrrrrr!!!!!! Hope someone complains and they publish a recantation!
I emailed the editor last evening but have heard nothing. I am about to forward my email to the new desk at the paper (for Inverness) as the article was about a gentleman in Inverness who has both GCA and PMR. Will see if I get a response.
My second email worked and I have had a reply. There will be a correction in the Press and Journal (P&J) on page 2 which is where such things are done and it will appear either tomorrow or Thursday. Still irritating that it happened and it just goes to show how few people have ever heard of arteritis!
When you’re explaining the acronym PMR to someone and you get the ‘R’ bit - they usually say something like - ‘oh yeah, my Granddad used to get twinges when the weather was a bit damp’..........😢 If only they knew!
Well done!
I submitted an article following the Cross-party Group recently held at Holyrood, which discussed and will promote, with the Health Minister, the fast-track approach for GCA adopted by Fife NHS. The objective being to promote the fast-track approach and also the existence of the recently formed Highland Support Group. It turned into a somewhat inaccurate article about me.
Hopefully I achieved my second objective and we get some new faces at our meeting in the Concourse Room, Spectrum Centre, Inverness on Friday 8 December at 1:30 pm.
Thanks for all you support in getting the P&J to publish the correction.

I personally find that when you mention GCAorPMR or the words- Giant Cell Arteritis then folks eyes just glaze over and I can sometimes see them mentally switching off! I tend to talk about it in layman' terms without specifically mentioning medical name. Agree though they need to get it right in newspaper- good for you!
Here is the link to the story in the Press&Journal for those interested..
PS... they corrected the Arteritis but refer to PMR as PMA..lol lol

Not sure where they get their steroids from - it's a bit more than that these days!!!
At least the first mention was right - but the mtx as a "replacement" isn't, And you don't catch (contract) uveitis - you develop it...
Picky, picky...
But they are pushing the fast-track - hallelujah for that!
