Has anyone had to have an epidural injection for hip pain not related to PMR? I finally gave in and had one. My PMR seems to be in control with 3 mg per day but my hip pain (Periformis muscle,) which I had before my PMR, has reared it's ugly head. I am now on low dose of Prednisone and didn't want to increase Pred and opted for shot. Now I am now sure I made the right decision. I seem to be off balance and not quite right overall. Have I had an overload. Experts please help. Robin

Do you mean "now sure" or "not sure"?
I would be surprised if an epidural injection will do anything for hip pain due to piriformis syndrome. It will help sciatic nerve pain due to other problems - so maybe it would.
"Have I had an overload" - what of?
Steriods. Also "not sure." Injection does help a little.
