Hello

Just thought some of you would be interested in my update,

My Dr who said I had a heart murmur fast tracked me to see a Cardiologist who confirmed the diagnosis, and also informed me that due to my symptoms I had angina. I have had an echocardiogram and will have a stress test done on Mon. In the meantime apart from al the other meds I take, I have to continue with taking an aspirin a day and a sublingual spray for the chest pain, and statins, and as some of you already know I now wear a bracelet due to being steroid dependent.

I'm not sure about the statins as my cholesterol is 6.2 but my HDL is 4,4 however I will give them a try and see how things go.

I hope you are all keeping reasonable well, and had your flu injection, had mine 10 days ago.

Best wishes,

Bowler x

Hi bowler,

Sorry to hear you have angina, but sure you’ll cope with it now it’s diagnosed and you’re on medication.

I’ve been on statins for ages, and don’t have any problems with them. I know some people are against them, but like most things, if you need them, you need them! Now where have I heard that before!

Off for my flu jab next week!

Take care.

Good to hear how you are doing bowler. I am glad you have got a doctor you have faith in. They are worth their weight in gold. Had my flu jab.

Getting older really is no picnic. Keep in touch.

Thank you for your reply,

I try and keep busy to take my mind off myself, although I do tire easily, I love sewing and like making quilts and bags, which keeps me occupied.

It must be lovely to have a creative hobby like that. Keeps you nimble fingered too.

Hi Bowler, it's good to hear from you again with your update but sorry to hear that angina has now been added to your list of problems. However, hopefully, the treatment will help with your symptoms and lead to you feeling better than of late. I assume you are still awaiting the results of the Echocardiogram and, hopefully, the murmur will turn out to be caused by something easily treated or, better still, not needing any treatment at all. Certainly that is what applied to me with the cause of the murmur found to be a slightly leaky mitral heart valve, so far so good with regard to not needing intervention. Your HDL sounds really good but the statins are probably felt to be wise in view of the angina etc. I've never had a stress test but good luck with that on Monday.

Thank you Celtic

I will be glad to get this sorted and treated, I assume once I have had the stress test I will then see the Cardiologist again for both tests results. I got confused the other day with all the Meds. and took 2 twice the other day! so I now have 3 dosset boxes on the go, what a state to get into.

I have a blood test next week and hope my kidneys are surviving all these tablets.

Take care and keep well

HiBowler I too was told I had angina and now on further medication. Statins are good I feel. I do get a bit breathless . I had angiogram which showed blocked artery somewhere in that jumble of arteries leading to the heart ❤️. Marvellous how we actually keep going isn't it I am glad I can't see inside me I imagine statins fighting with pred with the odd paracetamol thrown in for good measure. Then a beta blocker how do they all know where to go ? Cheers
