Is it true that we should not go near newly vaccinated babies?
Newly vaccinated babies.: Is it true that we should... - PMRGCAuk
Newly vaccinated babies.
Most of the baby vaccinations are not live so should pose no risk. In the UK even the polio vaccine is no longer oral and live. There is one for Rotavirus given to wee ones under 24 weeks which is oral and live. Anyone who is immunocompromised should not change the nappies for two weeks, as it passes through. The other live one is the MMR but any measles like symptoms are not infectious.
Oh yes, the nasal flu vaccine. Severely immunocompromised people should avoid close contact for a couple of weeks.
SnazzyD That's interesting re nasal flu vaccine. I saw that on TV and was thinking that my 3 year old granddaughter may be due to get that. I look after her 3 days a week while her mum works so could be complicated to avoid close contact 🤔😏
Re the nasal flu, the everything I've seen so far says it is a very small risk and only for severely immunosupressed people eg. Organ transplant and chemotherapy.
If they are your family newborns it will do you more harm to keep away. SnazzyD
Has this one covered.
