Hello : Hi - I'm Robert and have PMRGCA and various... - PMRGCAuk
Hello
Well that is a bit oblique, please expand.
Or is it you just want to read, gain knowledge and, perhaps pluck up the courage to share your worries and let us know how so we can help?
if that is the problem, just type away and tell us, we won't be shocked, hurt, or astonished That I can promise you.
Welcome to the community! As you will soon learn, stumbling upon this site may be one of the luckiest things you've done. Scroll through the past posts and you may find your answers -- and find answers to questions you didn't even know you had. If you don't find the answers, don't be afraid to ask your questions. The Aunties (experts) here are very nuturing and knowlegeable.
And may I add, you will also get a few laughs along the way as well
Hi Robert,
Have a look at this, and then come back with specific questions to other illness etc.
Hi Robert and welcome. It all gets very complex as we get older. This forum does help to untangle some of it and gives you company along the way.
It's my husband that has all the problems and, sadly, does not like to use online but it will be good to be able to look at things and give him hope that he's not the only one suffering with various illnesses. I know when I had my hysterectomy it was brilliant to find a site that gave me the opportunity to chat and ask questions. He may be quiet on here but thanks for all the replies and I will be checking in from time to time
If you look at this site
they have a welcome pack for members which includes a book and a DVD (I think) but they can also be bought individually. Look under "Support Us - Our little shop".
Perhaps he will read/watch them - the DVD called "You are not alone" was made by healthcare professionals and patients to explain to patients and family and friends how PMR/GCA affect us. The booklet explains a lot of stuff you find on the forums. There are many PMR/GCA patients who don't use the internet so we provide the alternatives.
There are stories from patients on the site and also articles by medics. You could print them off for him to read if he doesn't like reading online.
Thanks for that - fingers crossed
