Welcome Evaannie.

I, and many others here, have PMR and or GCA. Is that what brings you to this wonderful resource?

Many of us have found this forum to be the most comprehensive and up-to- date resource available to us. Some fortunate folks are close to the research institutions and have been willing and able to share newest data. Others of us live elsewhere, and are catching up.

We keep learning from each other and changing the medical landscape as we challenge and share our experience with our medical providers. They learn from us .

Regards, Jerri

Hi evaannie, glad to know you've found this site, not only is it full of information but the sense of sharing with a compassionate community is very beneficial in what can be an isolating and bewildering experience.

I was also diagnosed in July 2015, started on 15mg and got to 7mg, now on 9mg after some family strife caused a flare - we're susceptible to any kind of stress, so anything we can take control of such as diet, coping strategies, pacing ourselves helps us feel better. The recent thread on Shrug Therapy is great, it works! Makes me smile every time I do it... All the very best and keep us updated!

Hi Slowdown thanks for reply I started on15 mg and got downto 7 1/2 before seeing the rheum who tapered me down to nil but took X-rays of the places where I had pain and a lot of blood tests Next rheum wanted ultrasound of hands and feet None of these showedinflammations so she started me back on 15mg end of Jan this year Igot down to 8 1/2 by August but "knackered "myself overdoing things so went back to10 A little improvement in first 2weeks but still in pain after overdoing gardening again!!! I know better now but am now on 12 1/2 for the last 5days with little improvement I'm awaiting a Dr appt next week It is all very depressing!!
