Hello Everyone !
Interesting listening to an Australian Radio National 'Health Matters' programme discussing how:
'Microvascular dysfunction is caused by high blood pressure and kidney disease, and affects the tiny blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to your eyes and nerves.
New research has found a link between microvascular dysfunction and late-life depression'. They then ask : 'but what comes first, the dysfunction or the depression?'
Not sure how or if this can be easily related to the vasculitis of PMR/GCA but the subject of 'depression' comes up relatively regularly for many of us and high BP, kidney disease and diabetes are relatively 'common' as well. Sure we may get 'depressed' from time to time but these underlying biological 'drivers' just amplify what challenges many people face when attempting to get some equilibrium with a variety of vascular related conditions.
