Good afternoon my dear colleques. Some of you may remember my post 2 months ago after my gp wanted me of Pred within 8 weeks , from 7,5 Mg to zero. You gave me lots of Good advice, so I decided to do it my OWN way and asked for a second opinion. Finally I saw an unknown rheumy today and since beeing rather nervous I had written my arguments down to taper slowly ( Thanks to this priceless forum) And quess what she agreed with me and now I can take the time I need to go to zero ( I hope) and on top of that she, the rheumy, offered to take over from gp! So yes don't hesitate when you feel not treated in a way that you and your body need, take heart and go on and on till you get what you need. So today I am happy and content. Love you , Aletta

Ah, bless you Aletta.

Maybe The Man from U.n.c.l.e...? (my favourite 1960's American TV detective series) ;-)

We did not yet have a tv set in those days. The first series I remember are absolutely fabulous and gardeners world. Sorry

Ah, the BBC's 'Ab Fab' and GW are still favourites with many UK TV audiences too! :-)

Proves the quality of the programs and in 16 minutes I will watch GW although I still miss Geoffrey Hamilton

Yes Thank you PMRpro, she really listens and even more important the lady knows what she is talking about. I do not expect the gp frustration with her.

Yes that is so true, and considering this enigmatic disease as un uninvited quest for me it is important to

Learn to deal with it

In my own way.

That's good news Aletta - what a relief not to have a battle with the medics in addition to the pmr!

Very strange thing drugs we all react differently

So pleased for you. Makes such a difference if you feel the medic understands and listens. All best wishes on your future ( slow) tapering!!

thanks Jackoh, just been reading your post coated/uncoated pred ppi's and so on. Medics are not always that helpfull. But we learn from each other. I fill empty enteric coated capsules myself with pred, excactly the amount I need, so I am kind of selfsupporting. No PPI's for me. Good luck with your journey.
