Good evening
Has anyone experienced a feeling of nausea after eating yoghurt with the pred tablets in the morning.
Have been taking tablets with the yoghurt for some time, the sickness feeling just started recently.
Many thanks

Hi Deeroy2015
I do get nauseous - this has only recently started (I have been on Pred's for almost 16 months -) not connected with my yoghurt though. I also find I get really hot and clammy following the nausea - I have just put it down to yet another side effect of the preds.
It maybe some of the more knowledgeable people here will have more informative info on this.
Best wishes
Are there any other symptoms besides the nausea and hot/clamminess? Racing pulse perhaps. or palpitations?
Hi PMRpro
No it almost like a menopausal hot flush - it's very odd ?
Morning .. Like you I take a yoghurt every morning with my tablets . 3 x 5 tabs. Just a half as not keen on eating early am but now do. Haven't felt any sickness yet. I use the plain fat free one or any favour fat free. I hope this passes for you ... Maybe the ones you are using are a bit rich...
Hi Deeroy... It seems odd that the Yoghurt would suddenly start making you feel nauseous. Maybe something else? Perhaps something eaten the night before? I always have yoghurt with my Pred and no problems. I have tapered from 40mg to 4mg in the last 20 months.
Yes nausea have been a feature regularly for me and not sure what the answers are as to why other than to say our gut gets knocked around big time with all these meds. I have had my steroid made up in an acid resistant capsule which dissolves in bowel and takes 7 hours to work through my system - I pay privately for this and appreciate this may not be available in some countries. I am 18+ months into the PMR journey,
I stir ginger powder into my porridge, my cacoa drinks, stirfries and take slippery elm powder which lines the mucosa in the gut calming down inflammation - available most health shops. Slippery elm can interfere with absorption of some meds needs to be taken 4 hours after. Safe and OK to take as per my Rheumy's say so.
I also carry small ginger chews in my handbag if I feel nauseous whilst out.
Hope this helps
Blessings
