I’m travelling to India for a 2 week tour around the Golden Triangle this weekend. I’m wondering how I’m going to take my prednisolone. I usually have porridge and yoghurt to line and protect my stomach but I don’t think this will be available when travelling overnight by train etc! Was thinking about biscuits/ rice cakes etc
Anybody any bright ideas or experiences of food to take before tablets when travelling? Any tips gratefully received!

Hi, I was in India in November and didn’t have any problems with breakfast as we were staying with family. I had toast and cereals, could have had porridge bur not keen on it!
The main problem was air pollution but it may be better now.we uh
Thanks Jane - I’m doing a bit of train travel that’s what I’m a bit bothered by. I think it should be ok when we’re in the guesthouses. I’ve got some pollution masks for Delhi etc. Was it very bad?
It was then, but we had Divali with smokey fireworks and the farmers ‘slash and burn ‘the crops which causes a lot of smoke. It may be better now . Our masks helped.
Keep the pred/meds in a cool lunch bag. If you have coated pred you should be OK and if only a couple of mg uncoated you might get away with the milky tea. I just have 2mg uncoated and have them with breakfast.
How exciting, lucky you. I bet that yoghurt and porridge will be available . Is it one of those lovely posh trains? I bet the colonial influence is evident in the menus. Perhaps you can find out before you go - internet etc.Have a wonderful time. I will leave it to someone cleverer than me to explain the time difference and taking Pred. I know to involves taking more over the 24 hour period rather than less.
I always take a pack of oatcakes when I'm away from home. Good substitute for porage and they come in small packs of three or four so just right for breakfast with pred.
Hi...on holiday in Florida, and I’m now taking my Pred at 3am each morning, which I find the best solution for me! I’m taking 15mg with 2 Ritz crackers and it seems to be sufficient food! I started with any plain/savoury biscuits, but Ritz are so easy to eat. I have a small plastic box which takes 8 biscuits on my bedside table. I do suffer from stomach issues, and take lansoprozole. Hope this helps and have a wonderful time! S x
And remember - bottled water only! Even for tooth brushing. No ice, unless you make it yourself from bottled water. No raw food. Take it easy on the spices.
