I use the FitBit Flex--their most economical one and not a lot of fancy stuff. Works really well.

You can't update try looking in Argos. I got a fairly simple one from there. Good luck, tina

I have used an Omron one. I found it tedious to set up which you have to do each time the battery runs out but otherwise it worked well. I've just bought myself a Fitbit One to try and motivate me a bit more....only day two but I'm liking it so far!

My wife and I have found this one excellent for £12.50

Had FitBit...did not find it accurate. ..you could be sitting down and every time you move your arm, it registers steps. Not very accurate. I now have ACER...it knows when I'm on the bicycle or treadmill...measure real steps...also calories, distance etc. Best part is vibrates when your phone rings and text messages even FB notifications...love it...$59.00 with 2 extra bands on Acer.com.

I have a simple pedometer. I think it does more than count steps (tells time, counts calories, measures distance) but I haven't programmed it to do more. Brand name Sportline, cost about Cdn$30 and seems reasonably accurate. No internet capability of course, so you aren't connecting to your friends in competition, or storing your information, etc. Clips to waistband or belt, so doesn't register arm movements.
