Taking malaria tabs with pred

Hi. Do any of you lovely people out there know if malaria pills can be taken with pred.

You're all so knowledgeable and I thought I would check with you before researching elsewhere . Thank you

It would depend on which - there are several commonly used drugs. I can't find anything that says you can't take them with pred but the best person to ask first of all is your local pharmacist who is more likely to know than your GP.

Are there any other vaccinations you might need? Remember some cannot be given to you if you are on pred.

My Rheumatologist has prescribed Hydroxychloroquine to take along with the prednisone. It is considered a steroid sparing agent. It is also a drug taken for malaria. Is this what you are taking? If so it will not interfere with your prednisone. Cannot really say if it is helping me to reduce the steroids any faster.

Thank you for that Merk. I want to take it purely for anti malarial purposes.

Had no idea it was steroid sparing agent. how interesting. But I thought anti malarial tabs had awful side effects if taken for any length of time??
