Can PMR cause intermittent pain in Fingers & Toes, during the past three weeks I have developed a intense burning sensation across the top of my middle toe it last just a couple of seconds but returns quite rapidly but is never constant. More recently I have also developed a rheumy type of pain on the inside of my fingers ,intermittent not constant but intense.

Johnone, you can get inflamed tendons with PMR but perhaps it would be wise to get it checked out with your rheumy or GP to rule out any other conditions such as late onset rheumatoid arthritis.
I did have extremely painful hands about 6 months ago, and was tested for RA. I see a specialist in Leeds now and she says they have done MRI on the hands of PMR patients, and it proves PMR affects the hands. I increased my Pred slightly and it went away
Simple answer JOHNONE - yes, but not everyone gets it. I did, and flipping painful it was too! Seems to have quietened down now and I hope it stays that way. I can now clench my right fist completely and the left one (which started later in any case) is 7/8ths of the way down.
